Bodie’s Story
Bodie’s life has been enriched and blessed by continually creating and learning throughout his life. He has had an interest in drawing and painting longer than he can remember. Bodie’s mother and father noticed this when he was young and sought out a teacher for him. With this teacher he began oil painting when he was ten years old which has manifested a life long passion for visual arts.
The Process
“ I typically like to begin with an under painting. I find it’s easier to see true colours against another colour, it also provides a road map of all the different values found in the image. Under paintings also provide a nice unified colour scheme and sometimes can provide more depth. I also like adding a lot of texture to certain parts of my painting. I typically do this in layers and apply with a palette knife, after which I can adjust the value and tone by glazing the textural elements.”
